Fabien Galthié's time in charge of Montpellier looks to have come to an end with reports in France saying he has been 'laid off' ahead of their match with Toulon at the weekend.

Montpellier have endured a miserable 2014-15 campaign and currently find themselves in eighth in the wake of their 27-9 defeat to Castres on Sunday. After their loss to Bath on December 5, reports claimed Galthié had been stood down by president Mohed Altrad only for player power to see him reinstated.

But after their seventh Top 14 defeat of the season, Galthié's association with Montpellier looks to have finished.

World Cup-winning coach Jake White will now take over Montpellier on a six-month contract and will be assisted by Shaun Sowerby and Stéphane Glas.
