Ruck'n Maul: Greg Growden flagged the appointment of the new team manager

Stephen Larkham and Nathan Grey have been appointed Wallabies assistant coaches, the Brumbies head coach and Waratahs defence coach signed up for the 2015 Test season while continuing their respective roles at a Super Rugby level.

Larkham, who will have a remit to work with the backs, is regarded as one of Australia's best playmakers whose record includes Rugby World Cup, Bledisloe Cup and Tri-Nations Victories. Grey, a former Wallabies centre who featured in two Rugby World Cup campaigns, was a key part of the Waratahs' maiden Super Rugby title.

Wallabies coach Michael Cheika said of the appointments "it's crucial that you have the best people and best possible high-performance program in place if you are going to deliver winning performances".

Cheika described Larkham as "a coach and former player with incredible credentials who has a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in this environment, including playing an important role as a player for Australia in three Rugby World Cup campaigns". He said that Grey had "done a remarkable job during his time in Super Rugby and his coaching was extremely well received by the entire Wallabies squad during last year's Spring Tour".

The team's coaching ranks have been further bolstered by the appointment of Dean Benton, who will play a critical role in the players' preparation in the lead up to the Rugby World Cup.

But Cheika must appoint a set-piece and forwards coach following the departure of Andrew Blades. Cheika said that an announcement would be "made in due course" after thanking Blades for his service.

Off the field, the ARU announced a new management structure with increased resources for general team management and logistics. Hence Simon Roberts has been appointed Team Operations Manager while Patrick Molihan will be Team Manager. Roberts brings significant sports administration experience, with 10 years at Football Federation Australia, while Molihan boasts 25 years of experience in the media and sport industries.
