Queensland Reds coach Richard Graham may be breathing a little easier with news that former London Irish boss Brian Smith has taken up a high-profile school job in Sydney.

Smith had been linked with a move to Ballymore after finishing up with the Aviva Premiership side earlier this year; speculation only increasing as the Reds made a disastrous start to the Super Rugby season and rumours of player unrest began to circulate.

But the former dual-code star will instead take charge of leading rugby school, The Scots College, in Sydney's eastern suburbs; Smith's first assignment to retain the prestigious GPS premiership.

Smith had also been linked with the vacant NSW Waratahs position although it appears that Michael Cheika's current assistant in Sydney, former All Blacks centre Daryl Gibson, will take charge next season. An announcement is believed to be coming later this week.
