Monbeg Dude's third-place finish in the Grand National has landed Mike Tindall and his three partners in the horse a six-figure payout, according to reports.

The Daily Mail reports Monbeg Dude's remarkable performance - a horse that started the day at 50/1 to win the famous race - has netted Tindall and his co-owners £105,000. Tindall shares the horse with trainer Mike Scudamore and ex-Gloucester team-mates Nicky Robinson and James Simpson-Daniel.

Tindall posted his reaction to the Dude's showing on Twitter, saying: "Holy s***, I'm lost for words and emotions. All I can say is yes the dude!!!!!"

The horse was bought in a bloodstock auction in Cheltenham. Tindall paid £12,000 for the Dude and then brought Scudamore, Simpson-Daniel and Robinson in as co-owners. The horse has already won the Welsh Grand National and Robinson, talking to ESPN on Friday before the National, appreciates how lucky he has been with the horse.

"I was pretty naïve and new to the racing world so I knew little about it," Robinson told ESPN. "They told me it would only ever cost me money and even when it won its first race at Cheltenham - something he shouldn't have done as he was bottom weight - people were telling me it wouldn't get any better.

"I was thinking of course it'd get better. But then he won the Welsh Grand National and the way he did going from last to first, it was just incredible. Did I expect to have the thrills? Not a chance. Fellow horse owners have since told me how lucky we have been and how we should never buy another horse."
