Matt Toomua will make his return from injury at inside centre when the Brumbies takes on the Lions in Johannesburg on Saturday. Toomua's return to the centres means Christian Leali'ifano will remain in the fly-half role while Robbie Coleman has been shifted to the bench.

While Leali'ifano will remain in the play-making role, Toomua is expected to take over the kicking duties from Leali'ifano, who missed a crucial kick in the side's defeat to the Stormers last weekend.

The Brumbies have struggled since the loss of Toomua in round 8 and will be hoping his return will help bolster their side for their first win in three matches.

In the only other change to the side, Australian U20 Allan Alaalatoa replaces South African-born JP Smith in the front row.

Brumbies: Allan Alaalatoa, Stephen Moore, Ben Alexander, Sam Carter, Rory Arnold, Scott Fardy, David Pocock, Ita Vaea, Nic White, Christian LeaIi'ifano, Joe Tomane, Matt Toomua, Tevita Kuridrani, Henry Speight, Jesse Mogg Reserves: Josh Mann-Rea, JP Smith, Ruan Smith, Jordan Smiler, Jarrad Butler, Blake Enever, Michael Dowsett, Robbie Coleman, James Dargaville, Nigel Ah-Wong
