Pau have made former Scotland prop Euan Murray their latest addition ahead of their return to the Top 14 next season.

Murray, who retired from international rugby last month, will head to France following a season with Pro12 champions Glasgow Warriors.

The 66-times capped front-row forward, who toured South Africa with the British & Irish Lions in 2009, has also enjoyed spells with Northampton, Newcastle, Agen and Worcester.

Murray said: "Returning to the club and the city after almost seven years away, it's incredible to see how much the Warriors have developed both on and off the field.

"There's a special culture that exists at Scotstoun and I'm honoured to have been a part of the title-winning squad this season."

Murray is Scotland's most-capped prop and had hoped to stay in Glasgow but was unable to force his way into Gregor Townsend's squad for either their Pro12 semi-final or final.

Pau coach Simon Mannix said: "He knows the highest level of the game and will be a bonus for our pack."

Pau stormed to last season's Pro D2 title and since confirming their promotion to France's top flight have wasted little time in bolstering their ranks.

Murray will be joined in the Pyrenees by All Blacks Colin Slade and Conrad Smith, as well as French second-row Julien Pierre, Fiji winger Mosese Ratuvou and prop Chris King.

Glasgow head coach Townsend said: "Euan has made a big impact at the club over his two spells here, and his vast experience has been a great addition to the squad this season.

"He has always played with commitment and continues to be one of the best props in the game in the contact area.

"As a Glasgow man he always pulls on the jersey with pride and that passion really shines through when he is representing the city and the fans.

"We wish him and his family all the best in France."
