Glasgow Warriors still expect Taqele Naiyaravoro to link up with the team prior to the new PRO12 season.

In light of Naiyaravoro's call up for coach Michael Cheika's Australia wider World Cup squad the winger had suggested he may reconsider his commitment and attempt to settle in Australia.

A Glasgow spokesperson however, speaking to Planet Rugby, confirmed that Naiyaravoro's selection would have no impact on his contract with the PRO12 champions.

"We'd like to congratulate Taqele on being selected in the Australia squad and we look forward to welcoming him to Glasgow following his international commitments," the club said.

The Fijian born former Waratahs wing, who scored 8 tries in the 2015 Super Rugby campaign, signed a 3 year deal with the Scottish side in May which will keep him under contract until 2018.
