Munster have announced the signing of Australia international lock Mark Chisholm.

The 33-year-old, who won 58 caps between 2004 and 2010, will move to Limerick from Bayonne on a two-year deal, subject to being granted a valid work permit and obtaining medical and fitness clearance.

Chisholm also made more than 100 appearances for Canberra-based Super Rugby side the Brumbies, and he captained Bayonne for three seasons.

Munster chief executive Garrett Fitzgerald said: "We are delighted to have secured the services of Mark. His skills as a player have been showcased for many seasons across a number of different environments at both club and international level.

"Known for his athleticism and physicality, he will be a huge addition to the side with his abilities as a leader also proven."

Chisholm added: "My family and I have really enjoyed our time in France and we look forward to the next chapter in Ireland.

"I've been fortunate to play with quality players and teams throughout my career. Being able to be a part of the Munster family would be another highlight to add.

"I am looking forward to pulling on the red jersey and ripping in to adding to the prestigious history of the club."
