Ireland ease past Romania

Romania's replacement scrum-half Florin Surugiu finished the Oaks' 44-10 defeat by Ireland on a positive note after he proposed to his girlfriend on the Wembley turf. Thankfully, she said yes.

Surugiu came on for the last 13 minutes when the game was effectively over with Ireland holding a 34-point lead at that juncture.

Aged 30 and with 52 caps, he is one of Romania's more experienced performers.

Lynn Howells offered his congratulations post-match.

"I tried to advise him not to, but I am delighted she said yes. It's all too romantic for me!"

Captain Mihai Macovei added: "Yes I knew about this. This was planned beforehand. I am looking forward to their wedding."
