Australia won't be basking in the glory of their record Twickenham triumph over England beyond Sunday's recovery, with Adam Ashley-Cooper declaring the Wallabies have set their sights on becoming a "great team".

The Wallabies' 33-13 Rugby World Cup victory over England, a result that sent the hosts tumbling out of the tournament, was the biggest winning margin by an Australian side at Twickenham, and Bernard Foley's 28-point haul also set a new mark for individual points between the two sides. But as has been the trend set by coach Michael Cheika throughout this tournament, the Wallabies will from Monday switch their focus to Wales as they look to top Pool A and take another step towards a third World Cup crown.

"We've just got to keep doing it, stay real, be humble and get onto the next day's preparation and try and improve a bit." Michael Cheika

"I think it's just building on that [win]," Ashley-Cooper said when asked where the Wallabies needed to improve ahead of the clash with Wales. "Something that we've been touching on all year is about being consistent, a consistent team, you know? We want to be a great team; at the moment we're a good team, but we want to be a great team and how we achieve that is being consistent in our performance.

"So, during the week we want to prepare really well, be consistent in our preparation, and hopefully that has a direct transferral and correlation in our performance on a weekend. So we'll work on just being consistent."

Wales finished over the top of England the week before to hand the hosts the first of two crushing defeats on their home ground before they backed up and defeated Fiji in Cardiff just five days later.

Warren Gatland's side will have the advantage of a few extra days preparation ahead of their clash with the Wallabies, a side they haven't beaten since 2008.

"I've had a good run against the Welsh but that certainly means nothing from an individual perspective," Ashley-Cooper said. "We're at a World Cup so anything can happen. I think a lot of results in this tournament have proved that so, like I said earlier, we're going to work on being consistent ... we're going to want to go out there and win."

Wales posted just the one try against England, but Ashley-Cooper said they played a similarly expansive game to Australia and possessed several key combinations in attack.

"Look I've only watched Wales a little bit, I watched them against the English because we were obviously coming up against the English," Ashley-Cooper said. "They're a physical team; they've got an ability to play from everywhere on the park ... similar to how we like to play as well, you know that expansive game off some really good go-forward from the forwards.

"So I think it's going to be a really good game next week and I'm expecting both teams to throw the ball around and, you know, really use the combinations and the partnerships that both teams have in the backline."

Cheika, meanwhile, said he was preparing for a meeting with "Master" Gatland.

"We've still got so much to do," Cheika said of the Wallabies' rapid progress. "To be coming up against the master coach next week; like he knows how to manoeuvre things around, he's very successful in what he does.

"So again, like I said, I've been in the lower section there of the [coaching] tier but I think there's no need for any of those types of statements or anything like that. It's just about improving each day; I'm not going to change my tune in what I've been saying and what we've been doing because we won a game.

"We've just got to keep doing it, stay real, be humble and get onto the next day's preparation and try and improve a bit."
