Quade Cooper has not made the impact he would have liked with Toulon but still the former Queensland Reds and Australia playmaker is content, for the time being, with his form for the French Top 14 powerhouse.

Cooper finally joined Toulon after the Rugby World Cup, after a protracted transfer process once the Reds had confirmed they would not to renew his Super Rugby contract, but he said he "always knew it wasn't going to be a walk in the park".

"It's a different experience," Cooper said.

"Coming over here, you have to adjust to everything not just rugby, the lifestyle, being away from family and friends, and that takes time.

"I'm enjoying it. I always knew it wasn't going to be a walk in the park. It was never going to be easy. But that's what we love to do as athletes, you look for challenges and this is one.

"I'm working as hard as I can so hopefully I'll get better and better and be able to put some good performances together for the club, supporters and myself."
