Townsend looks for quick return
September 16, 1999

Key Scotland player Gregor Townsend could be back in action as soon as next week following surgery on his knee only a week ago.
After a limited training session on Monday the play feels he is nearly ready for a return to contact work.
"I'm hoping to get at least two games before the World Cup. There's a game against Glasgow Caledonians and Brive are playing France but I think I'd be advised to keep clear of that one. I may be able to play for Brive seconds" said the French based fly half, who had some loose cartilage removed from his knee.
