Australian second row Tom Bowman is set to join his colleagues in Ireland as the leg injury sustained in training last weekend continues to improve.
The 23 year old, who replaced Brett Robinson in the Wallaby squad only last week received 18 stitches in the wound in his shin and team doctors kept him in Brisbane until the swelling subsided.
Bowman does not expect to resume training until next week and he indicated he would be unavailable for the Wallabies' opening World Cup clash with Romania in Belfast on October 3.
"I wouldn't have been expected to be picked for the first game anyway because I'd expect they would go with the same team which beat New Zealand last month," Bowman said.
"The whole thing has been very frustrating, especially having to sit down last week while the guys trained and then watching them leave ... But this time last week I would have just been happy to go."
