September 23, 1999

Scotland No.8 Gordon Simpson is off his crutches after undergoing tests on the calf injury sustained in Tuesday's win over Glasgow Caledonians
The Auckland-born player was given the crutches as a precautionary measure after the game but is now expected to be fit for the Scots' opening World Cup game against South Africa on October 3.
"Gordon is now walking without crutches and should be ready to resume full training next week," said physio Stuart Barton.
