Noriega out of tournament
October 2, 1999

As revealed exclusively on on Wednesday Patricio Noriega's shoulder injury has proved worse than was original thought.
Noriega injured the shoulder in a mauling exercise at training last Wednesday. It was first feared he had dislocated the shoulder, but when that diagnosis was revised to a pinched nerve, he was pencilled in for a return to the side in two weeks. However, Noriega visited a Dublin specialist on Thursday morning, ligament damage is the diagnosis, and the former Argentine player will take no further part in the competition.
The team management has called up Eastwood prop Rod Moore to replace him.
Moore is expected to fly in to Ireland on Monday to join the squad.
