Welsh flanker Colin Charvis is to appeal his two-week suspension for punching, received after the game against Argentina last week.
The 24 times capped Swansea player will have his suspension appeal heard at Twickenham on Monday.
At first, the 26-year-old accepted the ban, with a Wales spokesman saying on Tuesday: "We're not going to appeal. It was considered, but everything seems to be within the competition disciplinary framework."
However the player has now had second thoughts and is aiming to be available for the final pool game against Samoa next Thursday.
Roberto Grau, whose initial punch started the incident, will not be following suit. The 29-year-old prop has already returned home to see his daughter who was born last week.
