Australia hooker Phil Kearns has said his test career is over.
The 32-year-old veteran of 67 tests this week underwent surgery on a ruptured ligament in a foot he injured in Australia's 23-3 win over Ireland in the World Cup two weeks ago.
Australia's most capped hooker had always planned to retire from the international game after the World Cup and confirmed the fact today after talking to his family.
After sustaining the injury several of his Wallaby team mates had urged him to continue at the highest level next year, but the New South Wales player, who made his debut 10 years ago and was a World Cup winner in 1991 has stuck with his original decision.
