Mehrtens injury "not serious"

New Zealand coach John Hart has played down the injury sustained by fly half Andrew Mehrtens (pictured) in Sunday's win over Scotland.
"He received a bang on the knee," Hart said of his influential number 10, who was replaced at half time by Tony Brown.
"We don't think there is any serious damage but we will not know for sure until he undergoes a scan on Monday," he added.
New Zealand seemed to falter without the influential Mehrtens in the second half and the New Zealand management will anxiously await the result of the scan. His replacement Tony Brown has only eight caps and clearly the loss of the Canterbury fly half, scorer of 560 points in 37 tests, would hard felt against France in next Sunday's semi-final.
