Canadian scrum-half Morgan Williams, one of his team's stars during their World Cup campaign, is set to join leading French club Begles-Bordeaux.
The club's co-president Alban Moga said Williams would replace Ludovic Loustau, who suffered a broken leg last week and will be out of action for up to five months
"I will sign a one-year deal to start with, but if everything goes well then I'll be happy to stay in France," said 23-year-old Williams, who will fly into Bordeaux to sign a contract on Thursday.
He is likely to make hiss French Championship debut in mid November and will feature in the club's European Shield campaign, when he will face fellow Canadian test star, Al Charron of Bristol.
