Fijian World Cup player Nicky Little has signed for Allied Dunbar Premiership one outfit Sale as replacement for Jannie de Beer.
However the deal has come as a surprise to French second division side Lannemezan who last week announced they had reached agreement with Little.

Sale's director of rugby, Adrian Hadley, who was furious over de Beer's withdrawal from his contract, expressed delight at landing Little, a nephew of former All Black centre Walter Little.

"He is a very good all-round player. He kicks goals, defends well, takes responsibility in midfield and has developed his tactical skills under the coaching of All Black Andrew Mehrtens and former Wigan Warrior Frano Botica."

"I was impressed with him during the World Cup and he is very keen to play for the Sharks having heard a lot about us from Simon Raiwalui, his Fijian team-mate who spent two years at Heywood Road."
