Canadian World Cup Captain has made a surprise move back to London by joining NEC Harlequins.
Financial problems at Bedford lead to the former Wasps fly half been released from a contract which would have seen him join the Goldington Road side next month, and 'Quins boss John Gallagher was delighted to snap up the veteran Canadian.

The player, who had a 100% goal-kicking record during the World Cup, is delighted with the move. "It is a natural move for me because after my time at Wasps I have a lot of close social friends in the London area and also some of my former team-mates now play with the club,'' he said.

"I am already looking forward to the London derby at Loftus Road and while it might seem strange to be going there as a visitor I am pleased to still be involved."

Rees has also confirmed that he was still willing to play international rugby for his country if required but his club commitments must now take precedence.
