November 2, 1999

The French Rugby Federation have asked permission to stage a party under the Eiffel Tower on Sunday evening - whether they win or lose Saturday's Final.
And if France upset the odds again and beat the Wallabies then the team will also travel down the Champs Elysees on an open-topped bus, as did the victorious French soccer team after last year's World Cup victory. That parade drew 2 million fans onto the world-famous famous avenue.
"There will be a presentation of the players on the podium (at the Eiffel Tower)" confirmed Michel Renouleaud, the FFR director of communication.
French president Jacques Chirac will attend Saturday's final at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
