Blackadder signs for a further two years
November 12, 1999

Canterbury Crusaders skipper and lock/ flanker Todd Blackadder has signed up with both the Canterbury union and the NZRFU for a further 2 years, until the end of 2001.
This is good news for New Zealand rugby and squashes speculation that he was about to move to Japan. Is it possible that Blackadder sees the resurrection of his All Black career with the departure of John Hart ? Many in New Zealand regard Blackadder as the best provincial captain in the country and not the sort of player who would allow the sort of tactical paralysis which has afflicted the All Blacks under Taine Randell's captaincy.
