A former Australian rugby union player was being investigated in connection with the alleged rape of a female sergeant at Brisbane's police academy, according to an Australian newspaper.

A report in the Queensland newspaper "The Courier-Mail" claimed the man was being investigated by the Criminal Justice Commission and police about an incident at the Queensland Police Service Academy.

The paper said the man at the centre of the allegations was a former Wallaby tourist and played for the Queensland Reds and was training to be a police officer.
