Outstanding Northland backrow forward Justin Collins has settled speculation about his future by signing with the Northland union for a further season. Collins , who enjoyed a superb NPC season, confirmed that he had received good offers from Waikato and Canterbury but was happy to play another season in Whangarei.
It will be a major surprise if Collins is not included in the Auckland Blues Super 12 squad for next year and 2000 really has to be the year in which he makes a serious push for All Black honours. New Zealand is not short of back row talent and it will be interesting to see how the new coach assesses his options in those positions.
Collins is a very mobile player who has good ball handling skills along with devastating tackling abilities.
