Italian prop banned for punching
Bristol
November 28, 1999

Calvisano prop Mauro Vaghi has been suspended for 21 days after being sent off in the closing minutes of the Italian side's 20-6 defeat at Bristol in the European Shield.
Vaghi lasted only nine minutes after going on in the 70th minute to replace skipper Massimo Cuttitta who had gone off shortly after being shown a yellow card, also for punching.
He was then dismissed after a fight broke out in a scrum a minute from time.
French referee Francis Macielo had a busy afternoon, issuing three other yellow cards to Bristol's skipper Dean Ryan, second row lock Ockert Booyse and Calvisano prop Daniele Davo.
