Lomu and Cullen requested for sevens duty
Wellington

New Zealand Sevens coach Gordon Tietjens should know by the end of the week whether the NZRFU is prepared to release Jonah Lomu and Christian Cullen from pre-season Super 12 preparation to appear in the Wellington round of the World Sevens series on February 4-5.

Tietjens faces the prospect of his Dubai winning squad being decimated by the enforced absence of Orene Ai'i, Matua Parkinson and Brad Fleming, also on Super 12 duty. However, the NZRFU wants to make the inaugural tournament a
success by allowing the inclusion of some high profile stars.

There is no bigger a star than Lomu and his inclusion seems highly likely for his Wellington debut after his move from Counties-Manukau.
