Johnstone to bring fun to Italy
December 14, 1999
Former Fiji coach, New Zealander Brad Johnstone, has finally arrived in Italy where he will be coaching the national squad for the next two years with the option of a further two.
Johnstone said he would like to create a "family" atmosphere in the Italian team and concentrate on generating true team play and spirit, something Italy has lacked in recent months.
The new coach also said he would be aiming to forge close links with the clubs and collaborate directly with the club coaches to give the italian game a uniformed approach. His first contact with the players will be in Tirrenia from December 20 to 23 where he will be able to view some 50 players.
