Benetton Treviso's French coach, Christian Gajan, has received a four-month suspension after he was invited to leave the field for protesting during last September's Italian Cup match between Treviso and Mirano.
The ban will not, however, prevent him from sitting on the bench on Saturday for the decisive Heineken Cup match against Cardiff.
"Of course we need a victory against Cardiff to keep our chances alive," Gajan said.
"But first and foremost we need to defend well. To win we will have to do something more and take some risks, but before that we must take control of the field and keep Cardiff at bay. To do that we need a very strong defence and have to put Cardiff under heavy pressure."
The Treviso side should be unchanged from the team that lost in Cardiff a week ago.
