Former Great Britain Rugby League star Bobby Goulding is close to agreeing terms with French Rugby Union Club Narbonne
The scrum half, who is wanted by Narbonne until the end of the season, is a free agent after his contract with Huddersfield Giants expired.
"I've flown across for talks with Narbonne and am impressed with what they have to offer," Goulding said on Monday. "The deal looks likely to go through in the next 48 hours but I don't want to turn my back on rugby league for ever."
Goulding who in the past has played league for Wigan, St Helens and Leeds would be unavailable for this weekend's European Shield game against Dunvant but could make his French Championship debut later in the month.
