Little to captain Waratahs
New South Wales
January 6, 2000

Double World Cup winner Jason Little has been appointed NSW Waratahs skipper for 2000.

Little has played 68 tests for Australia, either as a centre or wing, most of them whilst representing Queensland. However, he moved to NSW in 1999 after being unable to command a regular place in the Queensland side.

Little's first match in charge will be the Super 12 warm-up Southern Cross Series match against defending Super 12 champs Canterbury Crusaders at the Sydney Football Stadium on February 12th. The Waratahs' Super 12 opener is against the Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday 26 th February.

Waratahs' coach Ian Kennedy said today of Little, "He's a highly experienced player and when he captained Australia against the USA in the World Cup he did a great job. Jason's got the respect of all the players and will be in a key position for us this season".
