All Black sevens preparations disrupted

New Zealand's preparation for the Uruguay round of the World Sevens Series this weekend has been disrupted by the death of coach Gordon Tietjens' father.

Tietjens flew home to Rotorua on Wednesday to attend the funeral, leaving manager Tony Ward and skipper Eric Rush in charge of the squad.He plans to be back in Uruguay in time for the finals on Saturday. New Zealand are again expected to meet Fiji in the final, their pool opponents being Spain, Peru and Uruguay.

Elsewhere at the latest tournament in the World Sevens Series Fijian lock forward Apisai Naevo has been unable to train as the Fijian squad prepare to meet Canada in their opening pool match in this.
