Worcester's mascots go missing
January 7, 2000

Worcester are currently two key players short for Saturday's crucial league clash against second title rivals Leeds club mascots Goldy and Bluey.

The pair of six foot-high cat costumes were stolen immediately after Worcester's Tetley's Bitter Cup match against London Irish three days ago.

"The mascots have become very popular with the crowd, and are the frontal figures for our junior Gold 'n' Blues club," said Worcester press officer Nicola Goodwin.

Second Division leaders Worcester have reported the theft, but Goodwin added:
"If they were to be returned in time for Saturday's game, then we won't be asking too many questions."
