"Bill" to visit troops
Australia
January 7, 2000

Australian peacekeeping troops in East Timor will be able to belatedly share in World Cup celebrations when three members of Australia's victorious team head to the troubled region this weekend with a special guest.

Dan Crowley, Dan Herbert and Mark Connors will have alongside them "Bill", the William Webb Ellis Trophy, when they depart Brisbane tomorrow bound for one of Australia's closest neighbours.

The trio will stop in at Darwin on Saturday before jetting off to East Timor on Sunday.

Prop Crowley paid tribute to the troops saying the Wallabies received a mountain of support during their World Cup campaign last year and wanted to thank them personally
