Robinson unhappy with Padova tactics

Bath coach Andy Robinson condemned as "out of order" the spoiling tactics of Italian opponents Padova.

"This is not what the European Cup is about," said Robinson after seeing Padova handed five yellow cards including two for the skipper, Roberto Rampazzo, who was then sent off five minutes from time.

"We've got two players with cut heads and we could have had a player sent off," added Robinson.

"This was the worst I've seen from an Italian side. I have praised Padova but today they took a backwards step . They won't go anywhere in this competition if the play like that and that goes for Italy in the Six Nations as well.

"We saw them adopt a very cynical approach today."

Bath's casualty list before Tuesday's re-arranged Pool 2 match with Swansea now includes hooker Andy Long and England full-back Matt Perry, who was again required to play out of position at fly-half.

However Robinson is hoping that Mike Catt (shoulder) and Ben Clarke (hamstring) could be fit for Tuesday or more probably for next Saturday's more daunting trip to Toulouse.
