Tietjens makes sevens selection plea
January 12, 2000

New Zealand sevens coach Gordon Tietjens has made a plea for player reinforcement in advance of the Wellington round of the World Sevens Series at the beginning of February.

Despite winning the Uruguay round with an apparently depleted squad, Tietjens has requested the presence of Super 12 squad members in his team for Wellington.

Hurricanes Jonah Lomu and Christian Cullen have already been confirmed as starters, but Tietjens would like to haveavailable to him Dallas Seymour (Crusaders), Rua Tipoki ( Highlanders), Brad Fleming and Matua Parkinson (Hurricanes), Orene Ai'i and Rico Gear (Blues), all of whom appeared in the first 2 rounds in Dubai and South Africa.
