Thorburn joins All Black selection panel
January 18, 2000

The NZRFU have announced that Peter Thorburn is to become an All Black's selector.
When Wayne Smith and Tony Gilbert were appointed All Blacks coach and assistant coach before Chtistmas , the third selector's position was left vacant. Thorburn, who is a former coach of NPC side North Harbour and responsible for the development of the likes of ex All Black skipper Buck Shelford , is a canny rugby thinker who can be expected to foster some of the traditional New Zealand forward skills that seemed in such short supply during the last 2 years of John Hart's tenure as coach.
