Grayson out to prove fitness
Northampton

Paul Grayson is set to prove his fitness ahead of England's Six Nations campaign by featuring for Northampton against Premiership visitors Bedford on Saturday.

The fly-half is included in a 22-man Saints squad, having been sidelined with knee trouble since mid-December.

England coach Clive Woodward plans to select a 26-man Six Nations party next week, so Grayson has sufficient time given that Saints also play London Irish before the scheduled squad announcement.

``It's a great boost to have Paul back fit at the start of a very hectic schedule for us,'' said Northampton rugby director John Steele.

``He is a quality player of proven international class, and was in great form before he got injured.''

Jonny Wilkinson is likely to start the Championship as England's number 10, but a fit Grayson would undoubtedly challenge strongly.
