De Glanville back in the first team
January 27, 2000

England centre Phil de Glanville will start his first match for almost two months when Bath tackle Glasgow Caledonians in a friendly on Saturday.

De Glanville, who hopes to be named in the England squad tomorrow, teams up with Ireland's Kevin Maggs a possible Six Nations opponent at Twickenham next weekend.

None of Bath's other England training group members feature, notably centre Mike Tindall, who has been widely tipped to make his Test debut against Ireland.

De Glanville, on the replacements' bench for most of this month, suffered a fractured cheekbone when Bath lost to Premiership rivals Wasps in early December.
