ARU seek further representation in Super 12
January 30, 2000

The Australian Rugby Union is hopeful of fielding a fourth Super 12 side based in either Melbourne or Perth in 2001.

CEO John O'Neill has told the Sydney Morning Herald that initial overtures to the NZRFU and SARFU had ben well received.

He was also keen to dampen speculation about thefuture of the Brumbies, that their operation might be uprooted and moved to either Melbourne or Perth.

The ARU clearly feels that now is the time for the expansion of union in Australia, following the Wallabies' second World Cup triumph in Cardiff.
