RTE fail to secure rights for Ireland match

Irish National broadcaster RTE have confirmed that it will have no coverage of Saturday's open Six nations match between England and Ireland.
Sky Sports, which owns the live rights to England's games at Twickenham, has refused to allow RTE to show a recording of the game, as was done when the teams last met at Twickenham in 1998.
It is believed that the satellite company had demanded £70,000 from RTE for the right to show delayed coverage of the game. "We offered 50 per cent more than we paid last time," said RTE's Group Head of Sport, Tim O'Connor, "but they demanded an increase of 300 per cent, a figure we simply cannot afford."
However, don't forget that Scrum will have its usual live commentary and scoreboards for all three Six Nation's games tomorrow
