Mitchell feels "like a foreigner"
February 4, 2000

John Mitchell has aimed a stinging broadside at the England establishment as he embarks on his final term as England assistant coach.
Mitchell, a former All Black, claimed he was made to 'feel like a foreigner' according to a report in "The Daily Mail" on Friday, suggesting that his relationship with Clive Woodward was anything but rosy..
Mitchell who is to return to New Zealand to take up a position with Waikato after the Six Nations after a 30 month contract with the RFU was the first non-Englishman to join the coaching and management committee.
"I've been made to feel like a foreigner, not by the players but the management and officials," Mitchell told the paper.
He said he was annoyed that he had to wear a different tie and blazer because he had not represented England.
