Fiji top seed at Suva Sevens

Unsurprisingly, Fiji have been been named top seeds at this weekend's IRB Sevens tournament in Suva.

They will be joined in pool play by France , USA and Uruguay. In pool 2 New Zealand will play against Argentina, PNG and Croatia. Samoa, Canada, Japan and Tonga make up pool 3 and Australia, South Africa, Cook Islands and Vanuata pool 4.

Meanwhile, the Fijian government has approached Air New Zealand and Qantas to give a 15% concession on air fares for the visiting teams.The FRU has to pay a total of $280,000 to fly the 15 other participating teams in from New Zealand.

Sports Minister Ponipate Lesavua will announce Thursday whether his government will give the required $60,000 requested by the FRU.
