Pontypool face WRU rap
February 10, 2000

Pontypool could have points deducted if the Welsh Rugby Union find them guilty of fielding too many overseas players in matches.

Cross Keys complained after losing to Pontypool in December but Ponty claim they have not broken any rules as their players either have British passports or in one case a French grandparent.

The club claim that only two Tongan players were classed as overseas but team manager Dawson Jones conceded that "it is a grey area."

The WRU are still awaiting a full and formal reply from Pontypool.
