Injured Dal Maso out of Scotland clash
February 21, 2000

France's veteran hooker Marc dal Maso has been ruled out of the Six Nations match with Scotland in a fortnight's time because of a heavily bruised collarbone.

The 32 year old, who was first capped in 1988 and starred in the 1997 Grand Slam-winning side, picked up the injury during Saturday's 15-9 defeat by England which forced him to come off seven minutes from the end.

'He will be out from between two to three weeks ,' French team doctor Thierry Hermerel said.

There are also doubts over giant lock Olivier Brouzet , who is out for 10 days after having 15 stitches inserted into his right thigh- though coach Bernard Laporte could well ditch him anyway as he was furious at the 27 year old for being sinbinned in Saturday's match.

Other injury worries are inspirational former captain Abdel Benazzi, who is complaining of tendonitis in his right calf.

Brouzet's locking partner , Legi Matiu, is suffering from a tightening of his right thigh while elusive winger Christophe Dominici had two stitches inserted into his jaw and centre Thomas Lombard picked up a right hand injury.
