Heriot's scrape through as title gets closer
Edinburgh
February 27, 2000

Nervy champions Heriot's were forced to keep the champagne on ice as they struggled to snuff out the brave challenge of relegation threatened Kelso at Goldenacre.
The Premiership title would have been in the bag again if they had claimed full points and other results have gone their ways.
But Glasgow Hawks' victory over Watsonians means that they will have to re plan their party for another day.
The Heriot's tries were claimed by scrum half Rory Lawson and a double by winger Charlie Keenan. Stand off Gordon Ross added the rest of the points with his boot.
For Kelso, Graeme Aipchison thumped over three penalties, while Kevin Utterson added a drop goal.
To add to their problems, flanker Stewart Bennet and winger John Fleming were both stretchered off at the end.
