Propping problems for Hurricanes
February 28, 2000

Graham Mourie's Hurricanes are faced with a minor propping crisis in advance of their Super 12 round 2 match against the Queensland Reds.

Mike Edwards , the substitute prop who played for 20 minutes of the victory against the Sharks, has a calf injury which makes him a doubtful starter. The problem has been made worse because Tama Tuirirangi, the fourth choice, has been out of action for a month with a hamstring injury and is only now ready to play in club rugby.

Edwards is a versatile player who can play either in the tighthead or the loosehead positions.
