Brooke doubtful for Chiefs' clash
February 29, 2000
Auckland Blues' skipper Robin Brooke is an unlikely starter for the Super 12 round 2 match against the Chiefs in Albany on Sunday.
Brooke has been dogged by injury in recent weeks.Firstly he broke a bone in his hand , then in preparing for the opening game against the Brumbies, which the Blues won, he strained a hamstring.
Brooke is reported as recovering well , but it seems likely that coach Gordon Hunter will hold him back for the third round game against the Canterbury Crusaders.'I know I can't keep him in cotton wool but it is a question of using the whole of my squad wisely,' said Hunter.
Against the Brumbies the Blues fielded Charles Reichelmann and Troy Flavell and in Brooke's continuing absence seem likely to do so once more against the Chiefs.
