McInroy to lead Scottish youngsters
March 15, 2000

Glasgow Caledonians centre Ian McInroy will skipper Scotland under-21s against Wales in Caerphilly.

McInroy gets his chance to lead the side after Donnie Macfadyen suffered a shoulder injury playing for the Reds against Llanelli on Saturday.

Dundee's Alan Brown steps up from the bench to take Macfadyen's place in the back row, one of two changes from the side defeated by France a fortnight ago.

Keith Davidson of Hawick comes in on the wing in a move which sees Bruce Ruthven switched to full-back, Barry Irving slotting in at fly-half and Calum MacRae dropping from the starting line-up.

Team: B Ruthven (Melrose); J Steel(Northampton), I McInroy (Glasgow Caledonians, cpt), R Stewart (Hull University), K Davidson (Hawick); B Irving (Glasgow Caledonians), R Blake(Bristol); E Murray (Glasgow Southern), D Hall (Hillhead-Jordanhill), R Mathieson (Harlequins), B Douglas(Heriot's FP), R Maxton (Stewart's Melville FP), A Wilson (Aberdeen GSFP), D Irving (Langholm), C MacRae(Melrose), A Henderson (West of Scotland).
