Wallaby duo out for Reds

Queensland's worst fears were realised on the eve of Saturday's Super 12 clash against Canterbury at Ballymore with centres Tim Horan and Daniel Herbert both forced to withdraw with injuries.

The World Cup-winning mid-field combination failed fitness tests on Friday morning. Horan succumbed to a foot injury, while Herbert is still hampered by a calf strain suffered during a previous training session.

As expected, Wallaby winger Ben Tune will make his return after six weeks due to a knee injury at outside-centre. Youngster Elton Flatley will take over from Horan at inside-centre, with Shane Drahm at five-eighth. Tune is no stranger to outside-centre, having played much of his junior career in the position.

Mark Connors will join Nathan Sharpe in the second-row with John Eales on the sidelines with a fractured eye-socket. Mark Murray comes off the bench into blindside flanker.

For the Crusaders, Norm Berryman is still recovering from a sprained ankle and All Black prop Greg Feek was ruled out despite strong progress with an elbow injury.
